If you call Office 2011 "long in the tooth", what do you call Pages '09 and Numbers '09 and Keynote '09 and iPhoto '09? It's been almost 5 years without a major update from Apple! I think Apple has completely forgotten that they even make software anymore.The basic structure for pages and Microsoft for after 2000 are all similar, however with it almost a decade later a major redesign would be nice. Before you install the Office 2011 14.2.3 Update, make sure that the computer is running Mac OS X v10.5.8 or a later version of the Mac OS X operating system.

MS, HP, Motorola, Samsung, Dell, Sony, Google, Yahoo, ATT, Verizon, Cable companies had their chance and they either wanted to sell my personal info or tried to sell me subpar SW/HW. I just don't want MS anywhere in my life! :) I won't even consider Ford anymore because of the MS sync association. It is an update that unifies a user’s experience across. I don't want anything MS on my iPhone, iPad, MBA, etc. The Intel-only Word 2011 is a significant and substantive update to Microsoft’s flagship Mac word processing and page-layout application. Only the most recently released version listed below is supported.Thanks, but no thanks.

Posted on April 11th, 2014 by Derek Erwin This week, Microsoft released an update for Office for Mac 2011, resolving vulnerabilities in Microsoft Office that could allow remote code execution if a specifically crafted file is opened in an affected version of Microsoft Office. The following table provides release history information and download links for Office for Mac. Microsoft Releases Office for Mac 2011 14.4.1 Update. Turning ‘Automatic Updates’ OFF only applies to the Office for Mac apps (Word, Excel etc.). Perhaps every month or two let Office update, at a time of your choosing, not Microsoft’s. We do NOT recommend disabling Office updates for a long period. To view release notes, see Release notes. The install package is used if you don't have the application already installed, while the update package is used to update an existing installation. The build date is listed in parentheses, in a YYMMDD format, after the version number. Manually Check means that Office will not update until you choose the updates. Click Help on the main menu and Check for Updates: If Automatically Download and Install is chosen, click other choice. The Office suite includes all the individual applications, such as Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. ISSUE: Want to disable automatic updates in Mac Office.
